Let ME count some ways?
Republicans and I finally AGREE on something!
I CANNOT stand Nancy Pelosi…either, and I’m going to check which representatives from MA voted to keep her as House Minority Leader — and to ask them about it. (Seth Moulton did NOT. Good for him!)
Pelosi does not get it, the other democrats who support her DON’T get it…(well, they get fund-raising to get RE-elected!) and the Clinton circle STILL DOESN’T GET IT!
Why the HELL are they still blaming Trump for losing the election? Isn’t that what he’s supposed to do – make the challenger lose?
They don’t get why Trump won. They’re only looking at false news and negative attacks, Russia, the FBI, etc, everything and anything but them and their poor campaign, their plastic candidate, their negativity, their lack of connection, their manipulation behind the scenes, their lack of counter-punch, their arrogant assumptions…and keep missing the economics, disappointments and frustrations of people’s lives, missing the forest for the trees…while they earn millions and we earn zero…but keep asking you to DONATE, DONATE, CHIP IN.
Chip in – you dumb, insensitive (whatever!) With what…you out-of-touch (whatever)! Why can’t YOU chip in some of your millions? I need my 3-dollars to pay my rent. I don’t own an 11-room, 2-million-dollar mansion in Chappaqua. Donate WHAT?
I did NOTHING to support democrats in this election cycle – and that’s NOT because of Trump. It’s because I’m FED UP with democrats, (starting with President Obama), and their inability to connect with the cares of everyday people like me. I’m frustrated with Democrats because of their laissez-faire attitude to Immigration Reform, blaming Republicans for their failure to act, then pandering at election time with DACA. Trump appealed to HIS BASE. You did NOT! Multiply MY feelings by millions of other disgruntled, frustrated “liberals” who feel like me, for various reasons, and you get why Democrats lost. But don’t tell them, let them blame Trump. It’s easier.
I didn’t support Bernie. But if you ask him why Democrats lost, he will NOT lay the blame on Trump. He doesn’t…
At this point I’m actually thinking of going Republican, if they’d have me…eew!
Who knows, maybe Trump, crazy as it seems, MAY work out better for blacks like me!
Should I care if Trump has white supremacists in his cabinet – if he brings jobs and peace/security to my inner city? Or should I keep supporting no supremacists in the cabinet – and instead live with fear and economic depression?
Did I say I CANNOT STAND NANCY PELOSI? I am NOT a Trump hater. 20 million Americans voted for him. He is different. He is crazy. Hell, I’m giving him a chance. 2 years (midterms?) before I get on his case. I want to SEE what he will do, before I crucify him.
Did I say I cannot stand Nancy Pelosi and most of the current hierarchy in the Democratic Party?
Can someone tell me WHY Donna Brazile felt that Hillary Clinton, a seasoned politician, was NOT capable of answering a question from a CNN reporter? WHY she felt a need to slip Clinton the question on the sly beforehand? I find that morally reprehensible. If a candidate CANNOT answer a SIMPLE question off-the-cuff, then you have NO freaking right wanting to be – or BEING, president!
- It’s not like the answer determined whether you went before a firing squad. Yes, in a situation where a wrong answer meant death or dismemberment, by all means, go ahead and “save” your candidate…but really? She needed prep to answer a question on the DEATH PENALTY? Why?
- Did Hillary clinton NOT know that she was going to run for president? Are you telling me that all the while she was Secretary of State, she did NOT know she was running for president and only made THAT decision suddenly, in a great “aha” moment in March 2015? How do you explain her NOT knowing that she should have 2 separate and clearly demarcated servers – one to email daughter Chelsea to ask her to check on Bill – and one to email the State Department and the White House…and to KEEP THEM separate? Why the hell did she NOT know that?
- I wrote to the president in 2008 begging him to tackle Immigration Reform FIRST. But no, he had to go tackle Health Care Reform, (because his mama had insurance issues) and so, he listened to Rahm Emmanuel (his then Chief of Staff) who thought that immigrants should remain a political football that would never deflate. Obama/democrats disregarded counter arguments. Well congratulations on “Obamacare” that unwieldy monstrosity that democrats sold out to the health care lobby. That was a great help. Helped you lose the mid-term, which meant NO immigration reform which pissed off Hispanics and immigrants and led to apathy. Great help! Helped in 2016 too!
- How about Montana Democrat, Max Baucus? HE chaired the Senate Finance Committee and was one of the LEADING architects of Obamacare. According to news reports, Baucus RESISTED including a public option (which would let people choose a government Medicare-like plan, instead of private insurers, and help keep costs down). THAT is understandable, since according to news reports HE, the great and mighty Baucus, got nearly 2-million dollars from the insurers, hospitals and related groups – WHILE HE WAS SPEARHEADING OBAMACARE! Smelling a swamp?
- Do democrats LISTEN to ordinary people who are NOT Harvard’s grads or billionaires or celebrities? I’m no Katy Perry, how can I compete? If I live in the heartland and coal is going out of style and my town is dying, shouldn’t I be glad that I have clean air to breathe – even though I can’t pay my mortgage or feed my family. Ah, all that oxygen filling my stomach! Isn’t the O in O2 really tasty? Hey, the bank will accept the C too, if you tell your loan officer C stands for the Roman Numeral for hundreds!
- Living in the inner city? For the FIRST week in November, three police/fire/EMS responses to my 14-family section, in one week! Fighting, drug use, trespassing. What a life. I look out my peephole and people are injecting drugs, buying drugs, selling drugs. Yep, I’m raring to donate! Yet I’m being asked to CHIP-IN 3-dollars to make the Boston fund-raising quota. F-you! What have you done for me lately?
Republicans are right – Democrats dice and slice voters. Blacks? Hispanics? Asians? Women? Blue-collar? Dog-lovers! Muslims! Gays! Immigrants! BULLSHIT. People.
Still don’t understand, MS. Pelosi? Fund-raising and MONEY DID not win 2016. Gender did NOT win. Experience did not WIN. Get THE freaking MESSAGE. What the hell are you doing for me, immigrant? What the hell are you doing for me – job loser in company deserting to Mexico or India? What the hell are doing for ME, working poor with two jobs earning minimum wage who still CANNOT afford to rent an apartment in Boston where the median rent is about 3-thousand dollars in many neighborhoods?
After all, earning minimum wage in Massachusetts, working 40 hours a week at $10 an hour is $400 BEFORE TAX. That is 16-hundred dollars a week. Holding TWO minimum wage jobs, working 80 hours a week (if you can), is $32-hundred dollars a month. STILL CANNOT MAKE THE RENT…not counting food, travel, clothing, utilities, etc. But hell, we’ll CHIP IN so you can win and cut deals benefitting your rich friends and cronies!
Guess what: Get lost!
Yes, I said it. F-you, Democrats. How much do you earn in Congress. before factoring in the perks and the bribes and the lobbying trips? The dinners/gifts/favors? The insider deals made IN THE SWAMP, on stocks, etc…
PS: And Clinton staffers yelling at Kellyanne Conway (Trump’s campaign manager) and trying to vilify HER for your loss…just, in MY eyes…UNDERSCORES how much YOU still don’t GET it – and yes, your bitterness shows. Ha! HA HA!
JOIN DA CLUB!!!
In other words? MOVEON.LOST!!!
Ah yes! The DREAM ACT….
A BILL: To authorize the cancellation of removal and adjustment of status of certain alien students who are long-term United States residents and who entered the United States as children and for other purposes. (See Article before this, titled: The Dream Act)
Martin Luther King said: “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal…”
Back in December 2010, when Republicans rejected the Dream Act in the U.S. Senate they were riding an anti-illegal immigration surge within the Republican/Tea party.
Republicans were castigating and denigrating Hispanics. It didn’t even matter if these Hispanics were born in the USA! Long as you looked Hispanic – didn’t matter if you were from Texas. You needed to go back home – to Mexico!
Arizona governor Jan Brewer was championing The Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act (introduced as Arizona Senate Bill 1070 or simply: Arizona SB 1070).
It aims to identify, prosecute and deport illegal immigrants. The Arizona law makes not carrying immigration documents a crime and gives police broad power to detain anyone suspected of being in the country illegally. The bill has been described as the broadest and strictest anti-illegal immigration measure in recent U.S. history.
Republicans were ecstatic!
Other states rushed to follow – passing crass measures that ended up costing farmers to lose millions as illegal immigrants told those states – “adios”, and headed, not South – elsewhere!
Eight months later, in December 2010, with a Senate mix of 57 Democrats, 41 Republicans and 2 Independents, Republicans shot the Dread Act down in flames.
Only FIVE Senate Republicans voted FOR the Dream Act. FOUR Senate Democrats, out of 56, voted AGAINST the Dream Act.
THEN along comes TIME Magazine with it’s left-wing article about Hispanics and their VOTING POWER. Have I said Ooops!!!
Grouped By Vote Position
Not Voting – 1
Republicans alienated Hispanics with their fiery and often divisive and misleading rhetoric, then thought they would easily cruise to a 2012 election Victory by courting to Tea Party voters!
To add insult to Hispanic injury, just see who the Republican’s prospective nominee is likely to be…Mitt Romney! Romney loves Illegal Immigrants so much, when he was governor here in Massachusetts, he tried to get State Police to round up illegal immigrants! Do I hear DOUBLE oops, Mr. Romney!
“Mea culpa….Lo siento, por favor perdóname”
So if you were say, a Romney supporter like U.S. Senator Marco Rubio and you happened to be Hispanic and you needed to sort of pull Romney and Republicans from the edge of Immigration Infamy, maybe you start thinking of drafting a bill that would SHOW Hispanics that you’re not really an unfeeling robot – that you actually CARE?
In 2011, Republicans tried to cut 2-billion-dollars in funding for Headstart, the preschool program for poor children. And in 2012 Republicans tried to cut billions in funding for the Children’s Health Insurance (CHIP) But so what? They still LIKE kids, right?
How about giving kids of Illegal Immigrants a chance to Dream. What a brilliant, novel idea. And let’s call it the, er…Dream Act? Now why does that sound familiar? Never mind…
And so, Marco Rubio is drafting his version, or a Republican version, of the Dream Act…
As Illinois Congressman Luis Gutierrez put it, the Rubio bill allows certain young people to eventually earn legal status by attending certain four-year colleges or serving in the U.S. military. The proposal would bar these young people raised in the United States from ever becoming citizens. Similar restrictive or watered down proposals are said to be coming from Senators Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas and Jon Kyl of Arizona (both of whom have supported the DREAM Act before now opposing it). Let’s call them collectively The ‘Stolen Dreams’ Act.
I can’t wait to hear Republicans defend their version of the bill because theirs DOES NOT allow these kids to EVER become citizens! So go FIGHT AND DIE for us – but we’ll bury you in a Mexican flag!
You know what, serves President Obama right!
I’ve always maintained that he squandered his social capital on shoddy Health Care Reform when he should instead have gone for IMMIGRATION REFORM.
I believe strongly that if he’d gone for Immigration Reform, The Supreme Court would NOT have him over a barrel today…Hispanics would still be chanting: “si, se puede”, he WOULD NOT HAVE LOST the mid-term elections and millions of people would be out of the shadows buying houses, staring businesses, buying Insurance, travelling on airlines, buying vehicles, etc…
But that’s just me!!!
“With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. With this faith, we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood. With this faith, we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.” Dr. King.

If you thought that HEALTH CARE REFORM was tough – wait until debate starts on Immigration Reform!
On December 15, 2009, Representative Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) introduced legislation titled: The Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity Act of 2009 (CIR ASAP).
According to Immigration Attorney Sheela Murthy’s law firm:
The bill addresses a wide range of key immigration areas. Comprehensive Immigration Reform is intended as an overarching rewrite of a laundry list of pervasive immigration problem areas.
It is an effort to address these issues in a cohesive manner, rather than in a piecemeal fashion. This includes many matters of concern to our readers, such as enhancements to the legal immigration system, as well as revisions to the H1B and L-1 programs.
Some of these areas of interest:
— The bill would allow family- and employment-based immigrant visa numbers that went unused between 1992 and 2008 to be “recaptured.” It would prevent future loss of numbers by allowing them to roll over to the next year.
— The bill also proposes to increase the percentage of immigrant visa numbers that may be used each year by a given country. Some categories of highly-skilled workers would be exempt from the numerical limits.
— The bill also proposes to permit nonimmigrant skilled workers to file applications for adjustment of status (I-485s), if otherwise eligible, even if their priority dates are not yet current.
• This would have significant ramifications…like the ability to obtain the employment authorization document (EAD) and possibly enjoying AC21 portability benefits.
— The bill contains significant revisions to the current H1B, H2B, and L-1 temporary worker programs. It proposes establishing a Commission on Immigration and Labor Markets to research and provide recommendations on the flow of workers into the United States.
— Included in the H1B changes would be requirements for recruitment of U.S. workers. The U.S. Department of Labor would be given additional enforcement authority. There would be audit authority given to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in connection with L-1 employers.
— Finally, the bill contains proposals to improve the process of naturalization to U.S. citizenship, and to encourage naturalization. This would include grants to community-based programs in English-training and legal support aimed at facilitating naturalization.

Introduction of Comprehensive Immigration Reform Legislation
12:30 pm, Tuesday, December 15, 2009
Room 2261, Rayburn House Office Building
“We have waited patiently for a workable solution to our immigration crisis to be taken up by this Congress and our President,” said Rep. Gutierrez. “The time for waiting is over. This bill will be presented before Congress recesses for the holidays so that there is no excuse for inaction in the New Year.
It is the product of months of collaboration with civil rights advocates, labor organizations, and members of Congress. It is an answer to too many years of pain —mothers separated from their children, workers exploited and undermined security at the border— all caused at the hands of a broken immigration system.
This bill says ‘enough,’ and presents a solution to our broken system that we as a nation of immigrants can be proud of.”
Now we’ve been through this before. Last time a similar effort at Comprehensive Immigration Reform was shot down, largely by republicans.
What’s going to happen this time around?
When President Obama was campaigning for office, he placed Health Care Reform and Immigration Reform among his TOP priorities.
He’s had to deal with the economy which was tanking when he took office. He’s had to deal with Afghanistan. He’s also taken on Health Care.
Many of his supporters are NOT too happy that he decided to send MORE troops to Afghanistan.
Others are NOT pleased that the PUBLIC OPTION is NOT included in the Health Care Bill. Yet more remain unhappy with his administration’s handling of Wall Street excesses…not that there’s much he can do about that!
However, IMMIGRATION REFORM gives the president an opportunity to mobilize and energize the growingly influential Hispanic base and pacify Unions/Labor Leaders who are lukewarm at best over the Health Care Bill they’re getting.
DEMOCRATS – let this be a warning!
FAIL ON IMMIGRATION REFORM AND COME 2010 – YOU WILL BE THE ONES LOOKING FOR STATUS…AND PACKING UP TO GO HOME.
LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!
TWO WOMEN made national news this week.
Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and ex-Alaska republican governor Sarah Palin.
Let’s compare what they said, where they were and what they’ve been up to since the last election…in their own words!
HILARY CLINTON: Travels around the globe pushing President Obama’s foreign policy goals. Just returned from: Asia, where she attended a meeting of leaders from ASEAN, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. Appeared on: NBC’s Meet The Press Sunday. Talked about a range of issues.
Kicked North Korea’s butt. “their behavior is not going to be rewarded. In the past they believe that they have acted out, done things which really went against the norms of the international community and somehow then were rewarded. Those days are over”.
Working to release American journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee, being held in N. Korea: America is “certainly pursuing every lead we have. The messages that we’ve received from the young women both through our protecting power, the Swedish ambassador, and through the messages and phone calls they’ve had with their families are that they’re being treated well, that they have been given the supplies that they need“.
On a Nuclear Umbrella in Middle East: “if the United States extends a defense umbrella over the region, if we do even more to support the military capacity of those in the Gulf, it’s unlikely that Iran will be any stronger or safer, because they won’t be able to intimidate and dominate as they apparently believe they can once they have a nuclear weapon…We believe as a matter of policy it is unacceptable for Iran to have nuclear weapons.”
Championed Healthcare: “the chances that businesses will continue to pay for insurance over the next five, 10, 15 years are diminishing. I think, if I remember correctly, in ’93 and ’94, 61 percent of small businesses provided some kind of health insurance for their employees. It’s down to 38 percent.”
Running for president: “It is daunting. And it is, you know, probably a path that doesn’t appeal to a lot of women even in elective office, because it is so difficult. But I am convinced–and I don’t know if she’s in elective office right now or if she’s preparing to run for office–but there is a woman who I am hoping will be able to achieve that”.
SARAH PALIN: Has visited some states to Speak and Campaign for Republicans. Just returned from: Wasilla. Appeared in: Fairbanks, Alaska. Talked about a range of issues.
Kicked media butt. “some in the media because another right protected for all of us is freedom of the press, and you all have such important jobs reporting facts and informing the electorate, and exerting power to influence. You represent what could and should be a respected honest profession that could and should be the cornerstone of our democracy. Democracy depends on you, and that is why, that’s why our troops are willing to die for you. So, how ’bout in honor of the American soldier, ya quit makin’ things up”.
Working to ensure Holywood doesn’t hijack Alaskan way of life: “got to stiffen your spine to do what’s right for Alaska when the pressure mounts, because you’re going to see anti-hunting, anti-second amendment circuses from Hollywood…they use these delicate, tiny, very talented celebrity starlets, they use Alaska as a fundraising tool for their anti-second amendment causes. Stand strong…and by the way, Hollywood needs to know, we eat, therefore we hunt.”
Touted accomplishments in office, including Ethics Reform: “We promised it, and now it is the law. Ironically, it needs additional reform to stop blatant abuse from partisan operatives, and I hope the lawmakers will continue that reform“.
And Alaskan ruggedness: “remember we sported the old bumper sticker that said, “Alaska. We Don’t Give a Darn How They Do It Outside?” Do you remember that? I remember that, and remember it was because we would be different”. Why she’s leaving Office? For Alaska! “It is because I love Alaska this much…that I feel it is my duty to avoid the unproductive, typical, politics as usual, lame duck session in one’s last year in office. How does that benefit you? No, with this decision now, I will be able to fight even harder for you, for what is right, for truth. And I have never felt like you need a title to do that“.
