Here comes Paul Ryan…the one republican who ALWAYS believed in Donald Trump…now his new BFF!
Ryan is part of the problem with Washington – and I hope he is sidelined in the Trump administration. But he likely won’t…
Ryan just held a press conference (11/9/2016) and said GOP chair Reince Priebus worked to “build” the party. Whom is he fooling?
The GOP is not being “built”! It is being demolished and reconstituted – and we’ll see where Ryan fits in! Is he gonna be part of the foundation, the chimney or just a partition?
First he was for Trump, then he was anti-Trump, then he was partially lukewarm Trump. Now he is what? Trump, Trump yea!!!
Hypocrite A-kisser! But then he is republican!
I should have followed my instincts and called it for Trump – because I never believed the Washington “pundits” (whom I despise), and the pollsters, about the outcome of this election.
I had a gut feeling Trump would win. I did not want him to win, but felt he would win! I should have called it. Too late now – after the fact. My bad!
I don’t feel sorry for the Democratic Party. Actually I’m kind of glad democrats lost!
They can go to hell for all I care. Maybe, just maybe, they will start LISTENING to the “ordinary” people they depend on to campaign for them and to cast ballots. Maybe, just maybe, they will open their doors and listen to us – instead of the Donna Braziles!
Which is why I did not lift a finger to campaign this cycle…nor did I contribute any money, despite the numerous texts to contribute just a dollar – or $3! Why the hell should I contribute money for a chance to ride with the candidate — or to meet the President? Shouldn’t I be able to meet the president without having to buy that favor? I tried to contact the President for free. I wrote to the White House several times. They never replied or acknowledged me. So why the hell should I campaign for your legacy?
And why should I chip in, when I earn next to nothing and you’re doing NOTHING for me, DID nothing for me in the last 8-years, while you’re millionaires? For 8 years democrats had a chance to do something on immigration, but they played politics with people’s lives and futures, then close to the 2012 election, democrats come up with DACA as another political ruse…instead of reforming immigration when they held BOTH the house and Senate in 2008.
Again: Get lost! Serve you right. Most of America is now red and pretty soon, your party’ll be dead!
I once foolishly tried to reach out to democrats. I also offered to testify on Immigration. But I guess I’m not a star, not a Hollywood personality! Who ended up testifying? Stephen Colbert! Instead of hearing from a real immigrant, lawmakers chose to play-act. And now you want me to campaign for you? How about getting the people who stayed in the Lincoln bedroom to go door knocking for you! Rural republicans are not the only ones hurting. Urban democrats are hurting too!
I think Democrats should go back and thank Rahm Emanuel who apparently persuaded President Obama to ABANDON Immigration Reform (reportedly against Michele Obama’s advice) in favor of Health Care/Obamacare which has been a noose around the neck of the President and the Democratic Party, ever since.
To the so-called “democrats” who sabotaged Hillary Clinton’s campaign, the Socialists who should perhaps form their own party instead of hiding under the democrats banner (because socialist is a dirty word in America) — thanks. Thank you Bernie Sanders for beating up on Hillary Clinton and giving Trump ammunition to aim at her. The party is yours now. But half that party will never vote for you either!
Thanks for helping damage and sully Clinton’s image and reputation and solidify her negativity in the eyes of voters.
Congratulations to the Bernie voters who did not “like or trust” Hillary Clinton enough so they voted 3rd party. You voted for Attorney General Chris Christie and Secretary of State Newt Gingrich and whatever Rudy Giuliani will be. I hope you like the representation you will get from your 3rd party candidate. I’d hate to see you throw your vote away.
You must be ecstatic that Hillary did not win! Yes, indeed — thanks for your “protest” vote! You will be invited to the White House to meet with Jeff Sessions and doctor Ben Carson to talk about climate change and all the other issues that you hold dear. Both Trump and your protest candidate will appoint Supreme Court judges who will uphold the issues you champion, like same-sex marriage and women’s reproductive rights.
Now I really feel sorry for Trump supporters. The ones who really believe he can actually DELIVER on the things he promised you.
I can already see the very warm welcome he’s going to get from both democrats and the “never Trump” republicans – to push his agenda.
I can’t wait to see him:
- Build the wall…even WITH Mexico paying for it!
- Repeal Obamacare.
- Round up and deport (illegal) immigrants.
- Battle the environmentalists on his energy policies.
- Battle his own party on non-intervention and trade.
- Get the jobs that evaporate due to technology to come back.
- Lock up Hillary Clinton.
- Send prosperous blacks and Hispanics back to being maids and underlings.
When you finally wake up, pinch me too!
OK, here’s my serious take on the Republican MELTDOWN…
Republican voters are watching debates and Town Halls, attending rallies, listening to the candidates and VOTING FOR Trump and IT IS NOT THE PURVIEW OF THE REPUBLICAN HIERARCHY to “Pick and Choose” the candidate…(this also applies to DEMOCRATS, as well. If voters choose Bernie Sanders or George Orwell (definitely not a republican) then THAT’S the candidate the party has to settle for, LIKE IT OR NOT!).
If party leaders, in their wisdom or arrogance think that voters are irrelevant, then why go through the SHAM of a Primary?
THAT is a problem with the Political Ruling Class right there – and one of the many reasons why things DON’T work in Washington and elsewhere and why voters ON BOTH SIDES are so disgusted with politics. AND, why only certain types of candidates get elected or are PROPOSED for election – and why “We THE People” end up with MORE of the same.
Putting Democrats ON NOTICE: I’m giving you a pass with Hillary because (a) I think it’s time for a Female in the White House and (b) I want to give Republicans indigestion for another 8 years…but AFTER Hillary, Democrats/Democratic National Committee, AFTER Hillary, we no longer want MORE OF THE SAME! You have 8-years to get that house in order.
Seems to me that VOTERS apparently are NOT the ones choosing candidates – seems the PARTIES are choosing the candidates and voters are just granting their seal of approval. Many people understand that – but now it’s become glaringly OBVIOUS to all.
Example: I just watched a spokesperson for a group of republican foreign policy analysts and campaign advisers say PROUDLY, that Trump basically is a moron and his foreign policy is a disaster and they have decided that NONE of them will help Trump OR WORK FOR HIM if he wins! How about doing it IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE COUNTRY?
Does that help you understand now WHY they have worked so diligently to BLOCK President Obama’s agenda – to destabilize Obama and cause him to FAIL, even if that means America also fails? If they can DO this to THEIR leading candidate for president, what do you think they will do to a democrat?
WHAT does THAT say about the state of politics, particularly U.S politics?
You’d think that they would be eager to help Trump, if he really is so green.
The party hierarchy, donors, etc meet behind closed doors to hand-pick the people THEY want, the people THEY think will be pliable and biddable and beholden and then trot them out and fund them and groom them and FOIST them on an unsuspecting public.
When the party elites find themselves in a position where they CANNOT control the process, they are at a loss. And instead of supporting the candidate that their party voters seem to be embracing, they try to derail him or her.
I reckon ONE self-destruct button is NOT sufficient…republicans need TWO! An auto, just in case the manual fails!
Now I’m not saying that Trump is the ideal candidate or the best candidate or an acceptable candidate, whatever…I’m just saying, in the process of U.S. democracy and representative voting and electoral freedom, Trump is the leading candidate and INSTEAD of derailing HIM, (if the GOP does not want him – and who are they to speak for voters?)…
However, IF, in the interests of their party the GOP hierarchy (or the hierarchy of any other party) DOES NOT LIKE OR WANT the leading candidate, then please DON’T destroy or belittle him/her.
Simply PUMP UP the candidates you like and want: fund them, go campaign for them, groom them etc.
BUT DO NOT DESTROY OR DENIGRATE THE LEADING CANDIDATE THAT AMERICANS ARE VOTING FOR!
Or does the GOP think that it is DEMOCRATS who are voting for Trump?
While I enjoy the spectacle of the GOP self-destructing (and don’t for a moment believe that Democrats might not also walk that road – because we humans NEVER learn, we always think that WE will be the ones to get it right!) I find it SAD and PETTY and from the standpoint of democracy – an “Assault on Freedom.”
But then republicans are no strangers to assaults on voter suppression – they’ve simply turned the dagger on themselves this time. And good riddance. This is a monster you created – YOU and your pals on the Supreme Court.
You somehow thought that unlimited amounts of cash can buy an election; well apparently, it can’t always do that.
You somehow thought that when your pals on the Supreme Court handed the election to George Bush with a big red bow, that you were advancing your cause. Well, IT DID NOT. It created this entertaining cringe-inducing fiasco.
I maintain that if the Supreme Court had let Florida count its votes or let people vote again, Al Gore would have won that election – and that is what the republicans on the court were afraid of.
So they gave it to Bush. Bush took the U.S. into Iraq and paved the way for rock-star Obama.
Gore would NOT have bombed Iraq – and after Gore, who knows if there would have been an Obama – or another republican president?
It is NOT good to meddle in things based on impure motives – because it has a way of coming back VERY painfully.
By the way, even Martians will be watching that republican debate tonight!
And yes Mitt Romney – we’ll be sitting…we won’t be on our knees!!! Especially as we’re NOT looking for endorsements…
But there’s still time. I haven’t decided yet whether I will throw my hat into the ring – or should that be my heart?
